Science poverty is a real and prevalent phenomenon in our society today, especially among young students. Science poverty refers to the barrier to science that low-income or disadvantaged students face worldwide. According to the National Math and Science Association, science and math are the core subjects that prepare students for their academic future. However, there is a large gap between who can access proper education that sparks interest in these subjects and promotes STEM. This includes inadequate funding, low teacher qualifications, a less rigorous curriculum, weak foundational skills, lower expectations and supports, and societal barriers. These large-scale phenomena influence students’ abilities to achieve their dreams and transform their lives forever
